Pension / B&B Artepalermo

If you don’t like cities that are all fixed up especially for tourists, then Palermo will really appeal to you. By European standards, it is quite unique.

Churches and palaces dating from the Roman, Arabic, Normandy, and Spanish periods form the décor of the city together with some restored structures, half collapsed buildings, clothes hanging out to dry, colorful street markets, crisscross electrical lines, and the chaos of different types of vehicles squeezing through typical narrow streets.

Palermo is a bustling city with artisans and small businesses, interesting flea markets, and an active night life.

Contemporary Art

Museo d' Arte Contemporanea  RISO,  Galleria d' Art Moderna Sant'Anna, and Cantieri Culturali alla Ziza (a former industrial complex, now a cultural center organizing activities in fine arts, film, theater, and music; the French Cultural Center and Goethe Institute are also located here).

Remains of installations by the Austrian artist Uwe Jaentsch can be found on the Piazza Garraffello.

Summers are hot. The spring and fall are delightful times of the year. Even in November the weather is sometimes so nice that you can go for a swim. December can also be surprisingly pleasant for a visit.
